5 Morning Rituals to Start a New DayNaturely Shop
How you feel in the morning can set the tone for the rest of the day. If you start your day feeling relaxed and refreshed, you will realise that you are more focused and productive. Because of this, it is important to start your day right.
This can be achieved by waking up early in the morning, which allows you to do all the routines which I will recommend to boost your happiness and productivity as a result. There is no wonder why successful people often get up at around 5 or 6 am in the morning. Besides, by getting up early, there are the morning rituals that will surely help you to prepare yourself for the long day ahead. Let’s have a look at them.
1. Practise yoga, meditate or exercise
Many people avoid doing exercises in the morning and use the lack of the time as their excuse. It is more tempting to stay in bed a little bit longer.
However, that is the ritual that you should embrace to refresh and energise your body. Also, practising yoga, meditating, or exercising can help you to reduce stress and start your day with a positive attitude; allowing you to control and handle your day better.
Try to gradually wake up earlier each day to exercise. If you don’t have the time to spend a full hour per day for doing exercise or practising yoga, instead try doing a 15-minute session. The key is to do a bit every day.
If losing weight is not your top concern, you can practise yoga instead. They help to stretch your body and calm your mind. If you haven’t practised yoga before, make sure you find the postures and routines that match your abilities. However, stop doing any positions if it hurts or is uncomfortable.
2. Drink a cup of water
It is important to keep yourself well-hydrated all day long. You should try drinking a cup of lukewarm water so that your body won’t be shocked. Or you could also try adding some magnesium flakes to provide more nutrition for your body.
You can also try a mixture of water and lemon. The acidity of the lemon will support your digestive system and enhance the metabolism process of your body. But, if you think that water and lemon is a little bit sour, you can add some drops of honey for a sweeter drink.
3. Eat a healthy breakfast: yoghurt, oats
What else can you do to provide you with enough energy for you to do your job before you have lunch?
Avoid skipping breakfast, especially if you want to lose weight. Researchers have shown that people who tend to skip their breakfasts are at a higher risk to develop eating disorders. Breakfasts help to jumpstart your metabolism, so never skip one.
It will not take you a lot of time to prepare breakfast. You can search for many quick ways to prepare breakfast in the morning, or prepare it the night before. Using leftovers is also a great idea for breakfast, and is a great way for you can save a lot of money.
You should eat a lot of nuts, seeds, and fruits for breakfast. These superfoods are tasty and deliver a vast amount of energy and nutrition. Some other healthy options you can try include fried eggs on toast (using wholegrain bread), berry smoothies, yoghurt with fruits and nuts, or oatmeal with fruits. 4. Have a full morning routine on your face
For any girl, a morning routine can’t finish if she doesn’t perform a morning routine for her face. The steps of this morning routine include cleansing, toning, and moisturising. A skincare routine is essential to remove any dirt and impurities on your skin and provide it with the required moisture and nutrition. Your complexion will be improved if you follow these steps every day. Keep in mind that different skin types will be suitable for different products. Make sure you know about your skin types and choose skin care products accordingly.
In addition, you should try to look for natural or organic skincare products. If you use skin care products which contain harmful chemicals like synthetic fragrances, this will end up causing more damaging to your skin instead of enhancing it.
5. Plan your day
Have you ever spent a long day and then realised that you haven’t really achieved anything? If you see yourself in that situation, it is time to get yourself into the habit of planning your day in the morning.
Before you head out to work, you should spend a few minutes listing what you have to do on the day. List them out and prioritise them, so you know which task you need to complete first. Don’t try to list out a lot of tasks which you know that it is impossible for you to finish within a day.
You can use the Eisenhower Decision Matrix to help you categorise the importance and urgency of these tasks. There are 4 categories: tasks which are important and urgent, important but not urgent, not important but urgent, and not important and not urgent. Also, prepare a list that will prevent you from forgetting doing something important.
While you plan for your day, it is also the time for you to think about your goals. Do you have plans for your goals? Do the tasks you do today help you to accomplish your goals? Thinking about these questions will help you to plan your day better and be more focused on what you have to do later on.
There are many things that you can do in the morning. And everyone will have different routines. However, there are certain morning rituals that you should follow to prepare your body and your mind for the long day ahead. You should exercise or do yoga, drink a cup of warm water, have breakfast, and then have a full morning routine for your face. Then create a plan for your day ahead.
When you are able to follow all of these rituals, you will see the positive impacts it will have on you. Now, there should be no more excuses. Wake up a little bit earlier and get into these habits for a better life ahead of you.
